Koay Hong Vin

Koay is an Electrical Engineering Graduate and holds a PhD from the Universiti Malaya. He is enthusiastic about hackathons, having won several champions, including GIG Economy Hackathon (2017), AVIATAR Hackathon (2019), AGTECH Hackathon (2019), KitaHack Hakathon (2020), Malaysia Techlympics (2023). He is particularly interested in technology revolving around fintech and AI. He self-taught in AI and has conducted research in autonomous driving. Currently, he is taking a break from industry and is exploring edge AI, generative AI, and computer vision.

His research interest revolved around safe driving, driving distraction detection, and autonomous driving. He is looking into performing accurate and real-time scene understanding for autonomous vehicles.
